The divine earthly law is completely repressing the sea's inhabitants, who are now holding protests, strikes, and assemblies.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A group of dissenting fish has threatened to evacuate the entire seabed unless this law is repealed immediately. [...] We have decided to hold this\u00a0poetry festival\u00a0as a form of\u00a0ritual\u00a0to initiate discussions and proposals among the entire population about these serious problems, which concern us as **inhabitants of the earth and, above all, of a city born from a daughter of the sea, the siren style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In\u00a0June 1978,\u00a0Le Nemesiache, dressed in\u00a0poetry garments, walked down to Gaiola to celebrate the\u00a0Festival of Poetry, aiming to express \"the desire to live, to breathe, to feel beautiful, young, full of energy, like the sea, in harmony with nature, and to make June 11th the Women's Poetry Day.\"\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During a\u00a0Sunday walk\u00a0organized along the\u00a0Posillipo coast, the Neapolitan feminist group\u00a0Le Nemesiache\u00a0stormed the beach alongside the\u00a0Creativity Group\u00a0and the women of MBP.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A spontaneous procession formed as they descended towards Gaiola, following\u00a0Nemesi playing the flute. The\u00a0Nemesiache, playing\u00a0drums and wearing long robes adorned with gold and silver poems, caught the attention of women, young men, and children.\nAll were\u00a0enchanted\u00a0by the music of the instruments that accompanied their verses:\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\"[...] Let us invent a new, sincere, and personal way to reclaim the world's streets, to participate more authentically in the festival of nature calling us.<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Intervention at Gaiola, intervention for the sea, for our sea.\nA different relationship with the land: no longer\u00a0use, exploitation, or ownership.\nThe relationship with the land, with roots, with culture, must be like the relationship with one's own body, imagination, physicality, and history.\nReclaiming the land means seeing its destruction, pollution, and appropriation as the\u00a0same destiny imposed on women.\nTo rediscover traces, submerged continents, the sea as\u00a0mother, poetry, not just nature, no longer a scientific concept that justifies exploitation, as women are reduced to mere nature for the same purpose.\nThe sea as\u00a0culture, cosmos, a realm to reclaim.\"<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The\u00a0Nemesiache\u00a0articulated critical discourses and\u00a0political imagination\u00a0through\u00a0environmental interventions\u00a0to reclaim the sea and the land, raise awareness of\u00a0neglected or degraded areas, and reflect on the\u00a0violence inflicted on and by exploiting the territory.\nBy staging\u00a0alternative temporalities and mythologies, they sought to\u00a0restore the spiritual and physical nature of the land and landscape, moving beyond modern\u00a0patriarchal paradigms\u00a0of abstraction, objectivity, and separation, instilling new forms of solidarity\u00a0that blended\u00a0feminism and ecology within a cosmic timeframe.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lina Mangiacapre on the Film:\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Struggle, politics, fantasy, madness, expression.
